How to write a Stellar Linkedin Bio as a Student

After 1200 connections and reading a dozen bios every day, here is what I have realized.

This is how my Linkedin profile looks rn (30/6/2022)

1. Less is more.
2. Think of your bio as a brief pitch, not your life story. (Out of the 5 things you have done, try to focus on the top 2–3 that really stand out)
3. If you are looking for a job — focus on your skills, if you’re looking to network — focus on your achievements. It’s ideal to strike a balance between both.
4. If you are just starting out, mention your interests and the type of projects you are looking for.
5. If you are still trying to figure out your niche — mention it. It doesn’t make you look confused, it makes you look self-aware.

6. Third-person POVs make you sound like a brood (but if it’s your thing, you do you (: )

7. Try avoiding links as they are not clickable.

Pro Tip: Just having a good bio won’t work if you are not getting noticed. Try to send 5–10 new connection requests every day. Will be disclosing my cold messaging strategy in the next blog.
